The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay Open College & Career Center.
The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay officially opened newly renovated space for teens named the College & Career Center or the “CCC.” The CCC is located at the Bruce W. Nagel Unit in west Green Bay. The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay is one of only ten clubs in the nation to receive this opportunity. The CCC held a ribbon cutting on September 22, 2017, for partners and supporters to tour the space, socialize, and enjoy hors d’oeuvres.
The Club is more than a hangout for teens, they offer a variety of programs and activities for members. The new CCC includes a lounge area is equipped with TVs, WiFi, Xbox, Netflix, and everything they would need to kick back after a day at school. The lounge will also be a place where Teen Coordinators host programs to get teens active, thinking and having fun. The Union is an area where teens can buy snacks, do homework and play games. This space is managed by teens in the Club’s volunteerism and an entrepreneurial program called “Keystone.” Lastly, the “College Center” and “Career Center” are two separate rooms that will host programs that get teens thinking about and prepared for their futures. Teens will have access to job training and shadowing, guest speakers, college visits, internships, job placements, workforce etiquette training, academic mentoring and free tutoring. Two of these programs offered at the Club are “Be Great: Graduate” and “Teens2Work.” Programs like these help youth and teens with academic success and workforce skills. The Club is passionate about helping their members be successful today, tomorrow and forever.
