The new Transportation Center at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) is one of three projects executed by Performa and is part of a successful 2015 referendum campaign to meet local industry demand. NWTC launched a new Diesel Over The Road Program requiring a large high-bay workspace, and the college realized the opportunity to capitalize on the synergies between this program and the existing and disjointed Auto Collision and Auto Technology programs. Through the design process, new enhanced learning environments were conceived, allowing instructors the freedom and flexibility to quickly transition from traditional classroom learning to demonstrations in a connected lab space. The 65,000 square foot Transportation Center has been designed with the flexibility required to host industry events with future program growth and expansion in mind, as well as an aesthetic worthy of its prominent location along Packerland Drive. It will be completed for Fall 2017 classes to begin.
