Monday, October 15, 2018 Breakthrough hosted a press conference at their office on Washington Street in downtown Green Bay to announce their new headquarters to be built across the river within the shipyard development project.
In conceptual design at Performa, the new headquarters will be two-stories and approximately 40,000 square feet of high-end office space. This is a building inspired by the architecture of intermodal transportation. The port inspired aesthetic will complement the intended character of the development and reflect the business of Breakthrough.
The southern portion of the building is designed to look like a series of container cranes extending nearly 60 feet in the air, enclosed with glass to create an exciting, dynamic meeting and workspace. A shading canopy hangs from the crane booms, unifying them, and nodding to the inlet and shipyard development area. The northern portion is designed as three parallel bars of stacked shipping containers preliminarily programmed to house team member workstations, internal collaboration and meeting space, a fitness center and lounge-style space. There is expansive glass on the south and east facades to allow immense views of the river, the shipyard development, and Green Bay’s downtown.
Most importantly, the building is designed to perform. There are highly varied workspaces and environments that will enable team members to choose how they want to work for the task at hand, whether it be highly collaborative or deeply focused. The new HQ will unite Breakthrough’s Green Bay-based team members under one roof and accommodate anticipated growth for years to come.
Performa has been working with Breakthrough for some time, have assessed several potential sites and are excited about the opportunity and synergy of locating the building alongside the shipyard development. Groundbreaking is planned for spring 2019 with occupancy in early 2020. You can learn more about Breakthrough’s new HQ at https://goo.gl/2GH6zP
