Anchoring The “Boomerang Principle.
Festival Foods and its 25 supermarkets base all business decisions on the “Boomerang Principle”—will it bring the customer back? Naturally, when establishing direction for its new corporate office, the company sought to secure its Boomerang values in the plans. Performa worked to help Festival Foods create an environment that would keep employees fervently committed to its values, convey the organization’s story, and reflect its strong and respected brand.
The corporate space accommodates workstations, private offices, collaboration spaces, huddle rooms, and coffee areas woven throughout an open-office environment. Additionally, specialty spaces were designed to host social events, along with a training room, test kitchen, prep kitchen, and café. Key elements to the design’s success are the incorporation of daylight and the use of local materials. Interior and exterior limestone was quarried only 1.4 miles from the construction site.
Environmental graphics and artwork in the building play a key role in telling the Festival Foods story. Various construction photos line conference room walls, while images of the proud Festival brand history are displayed on canvas and full-wall graphics. Performa also photographed “behind-the-scenes” processes at the Festival Foods De Pere store and produced abstract canvas artwork placed throughout the building.
