The Beaver Dam campus of Moraine Park Technical College (MPTC) offers high-tech, health simulation labs that support real-world experiences for a wide variety of healthcare career options. Performa recently completed the remodel design of their Interdisciplinary Simulation Center – a learning lab replica of a hospital unit, complete with fully-equipped patient rooms for hands-on learning, an observation deck for teacher instruction and life-like human simulators for students to learn on. The space brings together all healthcare disciplines (Nursing, CNA, MA, EMS, in-home health, and other biological sciences) in a simulated environment to mimic the situations and scenarios that students will ultimately face in their careers. The technology is so advanced that when pandemic restrictions closed access to clinical sites, nursing students were able to complete valuable hands-on clinical hours right on this campus. The 15,500 square foot Simulation Center includes a Simulation Ambulance, Simulation Apartment, Anatomage (digital corpse) Lab, and several classroom updates with technology enhancements. The remodel also includes a faculty suite and two sets of restrooms.
